Literature Text

The thunder leaves its thorn upon me
While the rain smashes my ears
And the windows chatter in the wind

I can't look at it, god no
Your picture burns my insides
Leaves its footsteps in my soul

My heart beats but the rope tightens
As the lightning strucks my face
And the thought of you merely hurts

Yes, if you loved me I would hold you
Keep you sacred in this storm
Still my hands clutch nothing but the blanket

I would almost go and cut myself again
Just because I know then you would care
Just because I know how you hate it

I would almost try and drown myself again
In the hope you would save me
And in knowledge that you won't
It's tied around my heart and tightens every time I love you more..

and more...

and more..

~~

The cutting and the drowning are maybe not the things I would really do, but in another way, somehow, I already started that. Never mind, my words were once poetry, now they're merely words, affected by love.
